Welcome to the long weekend – Victoria Day falls on May 21st this year, and is a public holiday observed across Canada. May 24 long weekend as referred to by that name by most celebrates Queen Victoria’s birthday, which was May 24, and is always on a Monday. This weekend also marks the beginning of the summer travel season, and the beginning of camping season.
To all the Canadians – have a safe and happy long weekend.
Here’s this weeks edition of Sunday Link Charity. And in case you missed it, here’s the link for Sunday Link Charity #23.
Modest Money – Becoming a side hustler is not for everyone as it takes a lot of time, dedication, and at time repetitiveness in order to succeed. One thing for sure is that these days its not hard to find a side hustle, instead the trick is to know where to look, and the various opportunities available. If you’re thinking of getting into a side hustle, check out these 3 good web based side income ideas.
Sustainable PF – Teacher Man argues the case on why no more lattes rarely works. We all have our own little latte factors, for years I used to buy coffee on the go. Not anymore though, because I’d rather spend that money on golf now. I simply made a tradeoff, and it’s what makes me happy. There is no right or wrong.
You Have More Than You Think – For all your ladies out there, never let a man take care of you….I mean financially. That’s mistake #1, and for the rest of rules read Shawanda’s 5 mistakes single women make with men and money.
Young & Thrifty – RESP or RRSP? The debate continues….but TM writes a good article called RRSP vs RESP Accounts by throwing out a little clarity on whether you should fund your RESP or RRSP or both.
Dividend Ninja – On Friday morning Facebook (FB) finally became public and was introduced on the stock market, and after a late start to it’s trading, all the hype wasn’t enough as the stock only closed 23 cents higher. Personally I think Facebook will become a flop down the road, simply because it’s running out of new ideas on generating income. Avrom shares a similar view with his post; Why You Shouldn’t Buy Facebook: Part-1.
Married With Debt – I’ve been reading a lot lately about the notion of cashless society, and John wrote a post earlier this week on just that with his post called; Cashless Society: Helpful or Harmful?

Thank you for mentioning the post on my blog Eddie. Hope your long weekend is going well.
